Today 30 years ago New Order released the most brilliant and amazing dance song ever from their transformative LP Power, Corruption and Lies in 1983. The song wasn't originally included on the LP until later. "Blue Monday" symbolized a turn of a new leaf for them as Joy Division became New Order after the suicide of legendary front man Ian Curtis. Bernard Sumner's mourning vocals along with the pulsating synthesizers became seminal and the way for a new electronic dance movement that fused post punk with house. "Blue Monday" has also become the biggest independent 12" dance single of all time. This timeless song can transport you physically and emotionally, still sounds fresh and it never fails to fill any dance floor. Pure Brilliance! Enjoy

Automatic Lover
It has been quite a long time and I actually wanted to post this song for Valentines Day however life duties keep me from doing Disco Monk. Here is a song that I haven't shaken off since I first heard it a couple of months ago. There is something quite kitschy yet sweet about this saccharine cosmic disco song by gutsy British singer Dee D. Jackson. My friend Wiki tells me she started as a film producer in Munich, Germany and then moved into music working with legends such as Giorgio Moroder and Keith Forsey. Her first single was "Man of a Man"and it didn't do well. Her next single however was "Automatic Lover" and it became a smash in countries like Argentina, Italy, France, Spain, Turkey and Japan. Other songs from her debut album Cosmic Curves such as"Red Flight", "Galaxy of Love", "Meteor Man" and "Cosmic Curves" did pretty well internationally. She currently lives in Turin, Italy where she has a record company DDE Records, Ltd. I'm loving this hot mess of a cosmic lady. Enjoy!

Working Mix
Here is the first mix of 2013! It's called Working Mix. It is great to finally find some time to take care of music stylings and stitched together some great songs for your listening pleasure. This mix has a great flux and brings some drama along with some quiet moments of reflection. It also has an insane moment where DJ Glamjack fuses three unlikely songs together. Let's see if you can figure which song is that. I truly enjoyed making it and hope you enjoy it too!

No Cross, No Crown
We begin the year officially with two gorgeous and uplifting disco songs titled "No Cross, No Crown" and "The Message", both by gospel funk band Gloster Williams and Master Control from their LP Praying Spirit which was released in 1979. Very little is known about this band but for sure they were able to fuse funk, disco and gospel to incredible results with their exuberant vocals and orchestration. The saying No Cross, No Crown is usually interpreted as staying out of religion and politics. I'm loving both songs and hope this will get you in the mood for some good old shaking gospel/spiritual disco. Enjoy
