In the spirit of remixing Pet Shop Boys most iconic songs. This one goes out to all the PetHeads. You know who you are! There is the suite version, playing around with the guitar and trumpet riffs over a steady house loop. The shorter Introspective Version it's shorter and a bit edited. The first time I heard Domino Dancing was at gay bar in Baton Rouge, LA called Opinions along with the video on a big screen sometimes around 1988. Baton Rouge was and still is a conservative town unlike New Orleans and this was the time when I was coming into my own as a gay man living under Jimmy Swaggart's hey day. His throngs of religious fanatics used to plant themselves under a tent across the street from the club with one of them on a megaphone preaching you were going to hell and to repent now! This was pre "love the sinner hate the sin" ridiculousness. I would be lying if I say this type of oppression and hate still exist. I do have to admit this it added to the excitement of going there. Anyhow, this song and the whole LP changed my life period! Enjoy!

Traka Laka
Here I am in full Disco Monk get up and serving some androgynous flamboyance to go with this new release of "Traka Laka". Disco chanting taken to another level. What is Traka Laka you might ask? It's a state of mind, getting ready to go clubbing, getting there and totally let loose no matter what you look like or how old you are. Letting yourself be transported and energy release if you will by the beats in embracing a psychotic state full of movement, a new way of jacking your body dare I say! Traka Laking! Shake it shake it shakeeee! Enjoy

Como Bailar
Me dancing in 1991at a house party in Lafayette, Louisiana. Here is a track that inspired this photo. It's a moody house track edit from Tiger and Wood's "Como Bailar" where Alejandro Paz declares he's not interested in the people and what they think of him and he only think he cares is how to dance. Indeed and then talks to another dancer on how empty they both are but still it helps to care only how to dance....Enjoy!

Save Me The Ceremony From The Miracle
Photo and styling: Jack Rivas. Model: Christian Sam |
Here is a remix where I took some parts of Aretha Franklin's "Save Me" over Rebolledo's "Canivalon" and added Pet Shop Boys "Ceremony" from The Miracle section of "The Most Incredible Thing" n score they did for a ballet in 2011. The end result has a very haunting vibe and I'm pretty pleased with the results. Enjoy!

Can Not Contain This
Celebrating my birthday today and "I Just Can Not Contain This" . Another brilliant song by Moloko from their amazing record "Statues". Roisin Murphy delivers the goods here with her powerful voice giving us some wise words of comfort. I remixed to create more of an atmospheric vibe. Enjoy!

Ms. Roisin Murphy!
It's time to pay duly homage to this amazing woman of dance music. Ms. Roisin Murphy has been around since 1995 along with producer Mike Brydon as the vocalist for Moloko. From the get go these two would would make their mark with fantastic electronic dance tracks so far ahead of their time with their single "Fun For Me", fast forward three more years and they came up with their sublime "Sing It Back" breaking ground as far as dance music goes. Then they consistently had some incredible dance rompers such as "The Time is Now" and "Forever More" during the early 2000's and topping with pristine release of "Statues" which was basically their break up album. Ms. Murphy proceeded to explore different sounds a as a solo artist and a force to be reckon with with "Never Enough", "Overpowered" and several amazing tracks showcasing a unique take on what electronic and dance music should be in this new century. Following a hiatus, with a few releases here and there, she has now returned with "Incapable" currently tearing up every dance floor and it got me so excited about this iconic Irish lady's work again! Went of a whim and remixed it without thinking much about the outcome and it has become a hit on my soundcloud page! I recently went to "718 Sessions" where Danny Krivit played and it tore up the dance floor making this already another dance classic for the books. For this remix I slowed a bit from the original, re-edited, elongated some breaks and added some atmospheric riffs to enhance more the '80's/Human League and already house vibe from the original. Enjoy!
