Disco Break

Here is another version/edit I did to get you start the week. I'm really happy with the string arrangements for added drama. I'm starting to feel much  more confident with this side of production! Enjoy...

Here a Disco break to get you through the weekend with all the craziness in the world. This  is a remix I've always wanted to make of the epic disco classic "Space Bass" by Slick. I was inspired by Dan Shake's "To The Love" where he used a similar loop from Space Bass and added some  "Love Thang" by First Choice.  So I though it would be cool to a similar angle  using their "Let No Man Put Asunder" and of course I ended up with a 15 min long remix keeping the madness of the originals. Here is a new mix of some of my recent favorites of now, '80s synth and post punk, '80's Chicago House, Disco, '60's and some latin rarities. It includes wide eclectic mix of some recent vinyl acquisitions as previously promised on a previous posting. Oh and there are a lot of acapellas and spoken word for added effects by the likes of Greta Garbo, Rockers Revenge and Instant Funk. Enjoy!

A day off!

I spent the day in Chinatown and it was wonderful to reunite with some friends. This is a song that I remixed a while back using various beats and layered them with Manuel Gottsching famous Loft classic "E2 E4". I know this song has been sampled to death but it goes so well with this track and since I am paying homage to First Choice's cover of "Love and Happiness" which was also a Loft classic. I sprinkled the song using some sound effects from a Larry Levan vinyl of some of his wacky voices and acapellas he used at Paradise Garage.
