Happy Birthday Disco Monk!

Happy Birthday to this labor of love that was  created in February 2nd  of 2010 upon discovering this wonderful platform. It's hard to believe it's been 8 years of sharing this music I love and inspires me. The visits are consistent in numbers so thank you for all you who visits this site devoted to dance music. I know for the past 2 years the main focus has been on remixes of songs. I will try to include more inspirations, photos and remixes.  In the meantime, here is a new remix of "Break For Love" by Raze as we celebrate love this month. This is a classic house song that I have always loved and never get enough of it. The love that keeps on coming and let's all break for loooove! Enjoy and to many more years of Disco Monk!

Here is remixed with some of Troye Sivan's great synth pop hit "My My My" which upon a first listen had PSB all over.  Enjoy

Love It's The Only Thing

We start the year with this underrated house classic "It's The Only Thing" by house master Lil Louis from his 1989 debut release From the Mind of Lil' Louis. This release was widely successful as it crossed over the charts during the height of house music when the sound became "above ground" and and "the sound" was getting  lot of radio play.  The LP had the crossover hit  "French Kiss" and underground house classic "I Called U". It's The Only Thing stands out on it's own as an oddity and I always responded to it. Here is a slightly skewed version from yours truly. Enjoy
